About the Blackhawks

Girls' softball team posing on the field at night.

Our Team Spirit

In 2024, two local softball coaches saw a need.  They wanted to provide the Enterprise, AL community with a high-quality option for youth fastpitch softball competition and player development, all within a close proximity.  With a desire to choose a team name that represented the culture for the area, The Blackhawks were born.  The first team tryout was in the spring of 2025, then the Blackhawks started playing ball that summer.  Since that time, the program has added more professionals to the staff, and added a 10u team to the organization.  At the Blackhawks organization; the importance of teamwork, character and coachability are emphasized as much as softball skill. Our program places high expectation on developing positive attitude, team mindset, mental toughness and softball IQ as imperative tools necessary to excel on the field.

The Coaching Staff

Our coaching staff is made up of a diverse group of dedicated professionals.   All members of our staff have coached and played at all levels of the game; from youth rec all the way to collegiate competition. They are passionate about fastpitch softball, and dedicated to helping athletes achieve their goals. All of our coaches volunteer their time to coach our athletes in all practices and tournaments.  They coach simply for love of the game, and the love of our players' development.  They are trained in the latest sports science and coaching techniques, and are committed to ongoing development of each and every one of our athletes.

Justin Martin- Program Director- Head Coach 16u

Justin Martin is a graduate of Enterprise High School and Auburn University, where he was a member of the Auburn Tigers football program as a kicker in the late 1990s. His background as a collegiate athlete helped shape the competitive mindset and leadership philosophy he brings to coaching today. Justin is the Head Coach of the Blackhawks 16U softball team and is passionate about helping athletes reach their full potential—not only through skill development but by building confidence, resilience, and mental toughness. He believes the mental side of the game is often the difference between good players and great players, and he emphasizes preparation, discipline, and learning how to compete under pressure. As a father of four—three daughters and one son—Justin understands the importance of creating a positive environment where young athletes can grow both on and off the field. Under his leadership, the Blackhawks strive to play with intensity, discipline, and confidence, embracing a culture built on hard work, teamwork, and continuous improvement. "My goal is to develop players who are confident, accountable, and prepared for success in softball and in life."

Matt Little- Program Administrator- Asst. Coach 16u

Matt is an operations manager for a local internet provider, has four amazing children, and has been married to his high school sweetheart for 25 years.  Matt spent his younger years as a baseball player and coach, but once his oldest daughter decided to play in 2010; he fell in love with coaching fastpitch softball, and has never looked back.  With 16 years of coaching experience, Matt currently coaches our 16u team.  He loves coaching offensive fundamentals, and finding new ways to make the game fun. "For me it is about the "lightbulb moments".  I love helping a kid find the root cause of an athletic struggle, seeing them improve that problem through hours of reps, then watching it pay off through higher level performance on the field."

Kyleigh Coin- Pitching Director

A former player for the Fury, Enterprise High School, Shelton State, and Enterprise State, Kyleigh learned from some of the best and now brings that experience and passion to our athletes. With coaching experience from Southern Steal, she is dedicated to player development, building confidence, and making softball fun.  "I am beyond excited to be joining this amazing and growing softball family! I cannot wait to work with these incredible girls, help build their confidence, teach the fundamentals of the game, and most importantly, make softball fun. I'm excited to grow alongside this organization and be a part of the Blackhawks family!"

Tyler Dunaway- Head Coach 10u

Tyler has been married for 16 years and has 4 children.  He serves as the president of Wiregrass Christian Youth Camp in Chancellor, AL and is a partner at a local CPA firm.  He grew up playing every sport available, but loved baseball the most.  He started coaching softball when his oldest daughter started playing at the age of 5 and fell in love with the sport.  "My goal is to have an environment conducive to learning that helps prepare the girls for challenges that will come their way on and off the softball field."

Lindsay Hilton- Asst. Coach 10u

Meet Lindsay Hilton, a Louisiana native turned Alabama mom. She is a devoted wife and mom to three great kids.  Lindsay is a Speech Language Pathologist, and currently works with the pediatric population here in Enterprise. She believes in hard work, and that some of your greatest lessons can be learned on a ballfield. She is passionate about encouraging young athletes to grow in confidence, character, and teamwork both on and off the field. In her spare time she enjoy cheering her boys on at the golf course, going to the beach, and family vacations.  "I'm excited to be a part of the Blackhawk family and look forward to watching your kids grow! Go Blackhawks!"

Amber Salmon- Asst. Coach 10u

Our Training Philosophy

In the Blackhawks organization, we believe in a holistic approach to sports training that focuses on both physical and mental development. Our training programs are designed to help athletes build strength, endurance, and agility, as well as to develop the mental toughness they need to succeed on and off the field.

Our Athletes

Our athletes are the heart and soul of the Blackhawks organization. All members of our program are selected not only for their athletic ability; but character, coachability, and accountability are the ultimate deciding factors by which our players are chosen.  We are so very proud of their hard work, dedication, and achievements; both on and off the field.
