1. Financial Obligations
· Payment Schedules: All team fees must be paid on time according to the schedule that will be provided.
· Non-Refundable Fees: Fees are generally non-refundable once uniforms and tournament slots are booked.
· Additional Costs: Parents are responsible for individual travel, meals, and personal player gear.
· Fundraising: Participation in team fundraising events is mandatory to help offset collective team costs. Lack of participation in fundraising events will result in higher fees for your player.
2. Attendance & Punctuality
· Arrival Times: Players must arrive at tournament or game venues no later than exactly 60 minutes before game time.
· Practice Commitment: Attendance at all scheduled practices is required unless excused by a coach ahead of time. Players should be on the field ready to warm up at the designated start time of practices.
· Advance Notice: You must notify coaching staff at least 48 hours in advance if a player will miss an event.
· Consequences: Unexcused absences or tardiness will directly impact a player's play time and status on the team. Multiple infractions may result in dismissal from the team.
3. Sideline Code of Conduct
· Respect Officials: Our organization has Zero tolerance for players or parents/guests arguing with, yelling at, or mocking umpires/referees. Inappropriate behavior will result in dismissal from the team.
· Opponent Courtesy: Treat opposing players, coaches, and fans with absolute respect at all times. Blackhawks players and families will always take the high-road, and display good character and class.
· No "Grandstand Coaching": We have dedicated coaches who pour time and effort into our organization. Let the coaches coach. Conflicting instructions from the sidelines confuse the players, and undermine the hard work of our coaches. Multiple infractions of this will result in suspension or dismissal from the team.
· Dugout Ettiquette: Parents entering the dugout or field during games and/or practices is prohibited. If your child is in need due to injury, dehydration or illness; we will motion for you to come attend to your child. Always send plenty of water or electrolyte drinks to last your child through an entire game. There is no need to check on your child’s snack or drink situation during a 75 minute game.
· Positive Encouragement: Be loud! However, always keep all comments from the stands strictly positive and supportive of the entire roster, coaches, umpires, other parents and opponents.
· Avoid Dissention and Speech that does not edify our Program. Parents and families can make or break our team experience. Do not spread rumors, backbite, or speak poorly of other players, parents, or coaches. ESPECIALLY to your child. If someone acts or speaks inappropriately, please bring it to the coaches’ attention. Colossians 3:8
4. Communication Protocol
· The 24-Hour Rule: Do not approach a coach to discuss playing time or game strategy until 24 hours after a tournament or practice ends.
· Player First: Encourage your child to speak directly with the coach about playing time before you intervene.
· Scheduled Discussions: Critical issues must be discussed via a scheduled meeting, never on the field during or after a game or practice.
5. Player Health & Safety
· Hydration & Nutrition: Parents must ensure players arrive with adequate means to stay properly hydrated and packed with nutritious snacks.
· Injury Reporting: Promptly report any physical injuries, concussions, or medical conditions to the coaching staff.
· Weather Readiness: Bring appropriate gear (canopies, cooling towels, warm layers) to keep your player comfortable during long tournament days.
Team dues are generally non-refundable once uniforms have been ordered and tournaments dates have been set.
